Description:
Position Statement:
Maintaining all equipment in the Waste Water area.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Maintaining all equipment, repairing and/or rebuilding all mechanical components
- Maintaining all necessary electrical work on all equipment
- Directing waste water distribution through series of aerators, pumps/valves, pipes, center pivot irrigators, and spray heads.
- Maintaining logs of both volumes of waste water distributed and equipment usage and maintenance performed.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Able to operate waste water treatment and distribution system equipment and facilities
- Self sufficient in electrical, pumps/valves, pipes, plumbing, welding and in heavy equipment operations
- Able to ensure that waste water distribution rates meet prescribed ground absorption capacity and/or crop utilization allowances.
- Able to operate waste water distribution system to maintain adequate storage capacity in lagoons for daily waste water production.
- Able to operate backhoes and trenchers during installation of pipelines, pumps and related waste water distribution equipment.
- Have knowledge of workplace safety rules.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must be willing to acquire a State of North Carolina Grade 1 Certification as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator
