Collaborates with multiple divisions to design Exterior components and systems which find the optimal balance of vehicle performance, safety, reliability, profitability and manufacturing requirements. Key Accountabilities

* Create 3D layouts/data and 2D drawings using CATIA.
* Correlate and negotiate with internal Honda contacts including other design departs, test departs, factories and purchasing.
* Lead part design with suppliers. Managing schedule, setting design targets and confirming prospect to achieve requirements.
* Collaborate with styling teams to set feasible directions and fix final designs.
* Support part and vehicle verification, developing countermeasures when necessary.
* Estimate and manage part cost, including review of supplier quotes.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

* Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 0-6 years of experience based on education
* CATIA or other 3D CAD software, self-motivated, organized, multitasker, effective verbal and written communication.

Working Conditions

* Majority of work is performed in an office environment.
* Some interaction in test lab, fabrication and manufacturing environments.
* 5-10 hours/week OT as needed.
* Some domestic travel, very limited international travel.
