Description

The General Superintendent is responsible for:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and oversee all field operations on multiple construction sites to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety policies and ensure all employees and subcontractors adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols to minimize risk and prevent accidents.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee and manage the work of subcontractors, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Monitor all construction activities to ensure compliance with architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations, project managers, and clients, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and changes.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient utilization and minimizing downtime.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure work is being performed correctly and address any safety, quality, or productivity concerns.
  • Document Management: Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, RFIs (Request for Information), change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Budget Management: Work with project managers to monitor and control project costs, identifying areas where cost-saving measures can be implemented without sacrificing quality.
  • Client Relations: Collaborate with clients to ensure their expectations are met and address any concerns that arise during the course of the project.
  • Post-Project Review: Lead post-construction closeout activities, ensuring proper project documentation, punch list completion, and a smooth handover to the client.

Profile

The Ideal General Superintendent:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Computer skills, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Projects, MS Office
  • Experience scheduling construction projects
  • OSHA 30 Certification Required
  • 15+ years of experience in a Superintendent role
