Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in supporting the construction superintendent and area construction manager in overseeing the entire home construction process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the home construction process, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
- Perform daily checks to verify lot signs are clean and visible to the public.
- Collaborate with superintendents and inspectors to ensure new home readiness and complete the New Home Orientation Training walkthrough/checklist with homebuyers.
- Conduct regular quality and safety inspections, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate and schedule contractors and subcontractors for each phase of construction, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Participate in pre-job meetings with subcontractors, notifying superintendents of potential delays and ensuring timely project progression.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements.
- Secure homes prior to leaving the jobsite and assist with additional projects as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the home construction industry, with knowledge of general building tools and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with homeowners and subcontractors.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to delegate, execute, and follow up on tasks efficiently.
Physical Demands:
This position involves both office and field responsibilities. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle, climb stairs/ladders, walk on active jobsites, read plans, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry items weighing more than 25 pounds. Office work includes sitting at a computer for extended periods, completing paperwork, and receiving/returning phone messages. Proficiency in operating a computer keyboard and calculator is required. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, adapting to different weather conditions. Public contact is required; therefore, professional appearance and appropriate business attire are expected.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises laborers, subcontractors, and vendors on the job site. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work.
Safety Requirements:
This position is a safety-sensitive position and includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task and others. This position requires safety training provided by the company.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be required for this position. A valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance are required at all times.
