Ensono Director, Mainframe Batch Operations

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary

The Director of Mainframe Batch Operations will coordinate and delegate the responsibilities of their assigned IT teams. Oversee the day-to-day functions aligning with their Global Leader(s) responsibilities/duties while maintaining ongoing project management and statuses. This may include onboarding clients, installation, maintenance, testing, debugging, and procedural documentation for their areas of expertise. The Director will oversee training sessions with resources to equip them with new knowledge and skills to remain current. The Director will conduct bi-yearly reviews, set quarterly and yearly goals, aligning them with the Business Unit and Company.

Key Areas of Focus for this Role

  1. Provide thought leadership within assigned tower and Business Unit.
  2. Provide direction to Senior Managers, Managers, and team resources.
  3. Enhance communication and collaboration with the client(s), Team, and cross-department.
  4. Foster associate and team development.
  5. Keep abreast of changes in standards, technologies, or methodologies.
  6. Provide input to the review process.
  7. Administer and update weekly project management documents, aligning projects with client and BU activity.
  8. Manage team’s ticket queue and follow up on aging tickets.
  9. Provide risk assessment and risk management.
  10. Review assignments for accuracy and quality where applicable.
  11. Delegate responsibilities where applicable.
  12. Facilitate or coordinate large projects.
  13. Attend/facilitate client/team meetings where applicable.
  14. Collaboration with other departments.
  15. Develop, assess, and adhere to completion of personnel, departmental, and company goals.
  16. Participate in and provide timely responses to all internal and external audits.
  17. Participate in the onboarding of new clients.
  18. Participate in optimizing batch processing efficiencies.
  19. Participate in enhancing mainframe systems reliability.
  20. Improve ticket responses and improve ticket hygiene.
  21. Implement Lean management principles.

Required Qualifications

  1. 10-15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree. Relevant work experience will be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.
  2. Knowledge in your area of discipline.
  3. Knowledge of batch management.
  4. Knowledge of Mainframe console monitoring.
  5. Knowledge of system IPL processes.
