The Batch Packer is responsible for performing various duties related to packaging production batches in a fast-paced environment. This role is hands-on, ensuring that products are properly packaged and handled, with a focus on safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in packaging or co-packing operations, particularly in manufacturing settings. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and prepare necessary equipment for packaging approved products.
- Select appropriate filtration materials and containers for each batch, ensuring proper packaging.
- Safely and efficiently operate packaging equipment, following all operational guidelines.
- Safeguard the integrity of product batches, ensuring no action is taken that may compromise quality without approval from the proper authority.
- Package finished products into designated containers, adhering to all specified packaging instructions.
- Complete all required paperwork, including accurate documentation of the number of packaged units and any partial containers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment, tools, and work areas, prioritizing workplace safety and housekeeping.
- Communicate any production delays to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolutions.
- Report any unsafe practices, malfunctioning equipment, or conditions that could affect quality or efficiency.
- Safely operate a variety of equipment.
- Comply with all safety regulations and proper handling/disposal of hazardous materials, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to prioritize manufacturing tasks, ensure product quality, and meet shipment deadlines.
- Strive for optimal productivity, consistent quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating instructions, and product specifications.
- Basic math skills to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, particularly in relation to weight, volume, and measurements.
- Effective communication skills in English for both one-on-one and small group interactions.
- Problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues within standard operating procedures.
- Manual dexterity for using small hand tools, scales, forklifts, and other packaging-related equipment.
- Experience operating machinery and packaging equipment to run multiple production batches.
- Working knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and quality control techniques.
