San Francisco CA United States Pinecone Full time

About Pinecone

Pinecone is on a mission to build the search and database technology to power AI applications for the next decade and beyond. Since creating the “vector database” category, demand has grown incredibly fast, and it shows in our user base. We are a distributed team with clusters in New York, San Francisco, Tel Aviv, and Manchester.

You will be part of a world-class team from companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Databricks, and Splunk. The company emerged from stealth in January 2021 with $10M in seed funding — led by the same legendary investor as Snowflake — followed by $28M in Series A funding announced in March 2022 and $100M in Series B funding in April 2023.

About the Role

If you’re excited about:

  • Bringing deeply technical products to market

  • Taking on extraordinarily new and hard problems

  • Shaping the course of a fast-growing company and product category

  • Working with people who value clarity, creativity, passion, initiative, and thoughtfulness

Then this is your opportunity to join a category-defining AI company to shape the course of an entire industry. Pinecone is a pioneer in AI technology. Its vector database already revolutionized the way developers build AI applications.

As the Director of Product Marketing at Pinecone, you will significantly impact the way we market, sell, and build our product. You will manage a team of product marketers and work closely with the rest of the go-to-market and product teams.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Experience leading a product marketing team for a deeply technical product.

  • Exceptionally high standards for your and your team’s work.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced (startup) environment with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Passion for marketing deeply technical products to a technical audience.

  • Burning desire to make a meaningful impact on the growth of the company and the AI industry.

  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills to successfully work with colleagues, customers, and partners.

  • Identify, own, and report on product-marketing KPIs to executive leadership.

  • Develop and manage a world-class product marketing team.

  • Develop close and collaborative partnerships with Sales and Product Management teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience for developer-focused product

  • 3+ years of management experience

Perks & Benefits:

  • Free mental health therapy sessions; free One Medical, Tela-doc, and Health Advocate subscriptions
