This job is responsible for performing complex analysis and modeling to minimize loss exposure and negative impacts to the customer experience. Key responsibilities include utilizing a variety of systems such as Excel, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and other relational databases to provide analytical support on strategies and ensure goals are met. Job expectations include evaluating data to assess potential fraud risk and create mitigation strategies.

As a Client Protection Fraud Policy Analyst, you will capitalize on your fraud knowledge and strategic thinking to solve business challenges and seek opportunities for improvement. The Account Takeover and Device Policy and Strategy team focuses on identifying criminals posing as customers who are intentionally trying to steal from the bank and deceive clients into providing access to their accounts. You will join a team of fraud professionals who are dedicated to stopping criminals and protecting customers from fraud, scams, and money mule activity. In the role, you will spend time analyzing difficult problems to effectively manage an evolving fraud attack environment. You will develop complex defenses designed to minimize the impact to good customers while maximizing fraud loss avoidance. You will work across multiple partner organizations and represent our team as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzes and interprets large sets of raw data to recommend ways to help the business achieve desired outcomes and make informed business decisions.
  2. Defines, gathers, analyzes, and interprets data using applications and technologies to forecast future trends and communicates to leaders and partners the statistical analysis results and predictions.
  3. Coordinates the production of product performance reports and updates for senior management.
  4. Develops effective monitoring and oversight to identify and mitigate Account Takeover risk.
  5. Works closely with Account Takeover Strategy across Deposit, Digital, and Card products to understand limitations, identify synergies, and opportunities for improvement.
  6. Conducts investigation and root cause analysis of major fraud losses and emerging trends with focus on preventing recurrence.
  7. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose strategy and policy changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results.
  8. Provides project scope leadership including fraud requirements, testing, and development of strategies.
  9. Excels at risk/reward trade-off.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years in Fraud Prevention, Strategy, Risk, Policy, Operations, or a combination.
  2. Experience with multiple products such as Digital (Zelle, ACH, Wires), Deposit (DDA, Checks), Cards (Credit and Debit).
  3. Proficient in Fraud Management tools used by operations to work alerts and identify Fraud Risk (e.g., Flash, BASS, Lexis Nexis).
  4. 2 years of experience in data analysis.
  5. Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  6. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and work autonomously with minimal direction.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. 2+ years of experience in business analysis.
  2. 1+ years of experience in consulting.
  3. 2+ years of experience in SAS or SQL querying.
