- Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys;
- Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports;
- Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software;
- Responsible to maintain and verify accuracy of project survey data and managing company standards survey database;Review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control;
- Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects;
- Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment;
- Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed;
- Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers;
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets and mentor and assist in training junior staff members;
- Operate a company vehicle;
- Observe safety and security procedures.Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
- Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices;
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents;
- Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies;
- Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques;
- Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems;
- Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software;
- Advanced problem-solving techniques;
- Proven people management and leadership capabilities;
- Possesses oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG;
- Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier;
- Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.Education and experience requirements are:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree or Associates of Science (AS) Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred;
- 8 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred;
- Land Surveyor (LS) License required;
