We are looking for a talented business analyst to join the Regulatory Intelligence, Safety & Compliance (RISC) Global Data & Analytics (GDA) team.

This role will be a key member of the Science and Analytics team, responsible for driving analysis and insights to help make meaningful business decisions. As a Business Analyst, you will focus on improving the success within business functions by analyzing data, discovering and solving real world problems, building metrics and business cases to improve customer experience, and providing timely data support for escalations to mitigate risk. We are focused on your success and want to build future leaders within Amazon. A key component of the role is to identify process and system improvement opportunities by developing the right metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams. In addition, you will design and develop automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions. Lastly, you will enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.

This role requires an individual with excellent statistical and analytical abilities, deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and outstanding business acumen. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and driven by a desire to innovate in this space.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Creating automated reports and dashboards with a combination of BI tools such as Tableau, Quicksight etc.
  2. Partnering with Program team, Legal, and Tech stakeholders to understand challenges and provide analysis to help drive program success.
  3. Providing data support for business and cross-functional partners to address escalations and answer questions using PostgreSQL and AWS solutions.
  4. Uncovering trends and correlations through mining and analysis to develop insights that can help stakeholders to make effective decisions.
  5. Designing and executing analytical projects using statistical analysis.
  6. Building self-service solutions that empower stakeholders to access and analyze data independently.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience.
  2. 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  4. Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  5. Experience with Excel.
  6. Experience with SQL.
  7. Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience.
  2. Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages.
  3. Experience using very large datasets.
  4. Ability to use scripting languages such as Python or R to evaluate data.
  5. Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift, EMR and Apache Spark.
  6. Project management and execution under hard deadlines.
  7. Proven problem solving skills with regard to unstructured, uncertain problems.
