Boston MA United States Rhapsody Full time

About Rhapsody: Healthcare is innovating and you can be a part of it. Getting data from one provider to another, or from a provider to a health insurance company, is harder than it should be. Our mission is to change this – to accelerate innovation by easing the data access burden. Imagine developing solutions that accelerate digital transformation. This is what we do at Rhapsody. By providing data exchange and data quality solutions that enable information to move seamlessly from one system to another. Whether building an application or using one, every part of the health ecosystem needs Rhapsody as a foundation. Most people will not ever see our products (that's how infrastructure works) and services during a medical visit. Our solutions run behind the scenes, and you can think of them as a central nervous system helping to move data to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes. If using your knowledge to help solve this important problem sounds rewarding, apply today at rhapsody.health.

What we have to offer you:

  • Comprehensive benefits package on day 1 (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)
  • 401k with a generous company match
  • Unlimited PTO, sick time & volunteer days
  • An innovative, inclusive, and fun work environment
  • Continuous learning and development opportunities

Position Summary:

As Director of Technical Product Management at a market-leading technology company, you will be responsible for identifying and driving successful development and commercialization of new Artificial Intelligence-based products, features, adjacencies, tools and programs. You will help shape the strategy and roadmap of your Product Portfolio in line with our overall business goals and the opportunities you learn through interaction with customers and prospects.

The role requires a high-degree of cross-functional collaboration, a willingness to learn and experiment with a variety of technical and data science solutions, and the wherewithal to scale the winning solutions. You will work with solution consulting and software engineering to experiment with, design and build the optimal solutions, with product marketing and communications to help define the go-to-market strategy, with our growth and services organizations to support the sales channel and key customers – and with all of the above to discover and effectively solve for the right business problems.

You will be expected to perform as the leader of the products under your purview. Organization-wide, you will be perceived as a leader within the R&D organization. In addition, you will regularly collaborate with executive leadership to ensure wider strategic alignment and ultimate success of your solutions.

As a mid-sized company with globally-distributed development and delivery teams and more than 1,700 domestic and international customers, you will regularly collaborate with others across borders and across business contexts, helping to drive alignment and execution of your product in all relevant markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Opportunity Identification: Determine priority AI investment areas based on likelihood of success, product strategy, and go-to-market strategy. Actively drive our AI strategy, including short-term product opportunities and re-leverageable long-term assets and processes.
  2. Execution: Oversee and actively drive the entire product discovery and initiative development lifecycle, from ideation and experimentation to prioritization to execution and release of the solutions within your purview, whether you are working on them solo or in conjunction with other collaborators inside and outside of R&D.
  3. Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, sales, support, and engineering to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout product development and to achieve shared goals.

Competencies:

  • Technical Acumen. Able to identify the highest-likelihood opportunities for successful development and application of artificial intelligence and data science to our products and business – as well as test potential approaches and then help drive the final solution build.
  • Execution. Deliver, deliver, deliver. Intrinsically motivated to create and drive solutions that make a high impact.
  • Leadership. Able to influence, motivate, and unify teams to achieve solution objectives, fostering a sense of mutual trust and shared goals.
  • Communication. Able to clearly convey the value of your solutions to inspire collaborators and customers around the globe.
  • Customer Focus. Prioritize customer experience and value of users, internal and external, in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Structured Thinking. Break down goals into manageable tasks to ensure that you can deliver value within the context and constraints of the evolving marketplace and business conditions.
  • Creativity. Very often, technical product management faces challenges that do not always have clear-cut answers or require “impossible trade-offs”. Employ creative thinking to drive unconventional problem-solving.
  • Enthusiasm and Resilience. Transmit enthusiasm, demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges, and commit to digging deeper and finding optimal solutions.

Success Metrics:

  1. Efficiency gains (where applicable)
  2. Revenue gains (where applicable)
  3. Solution adoption (internal or external)

Ownership of Key Artifacts:

  • Roadmap for your solutions
  • Solution KPIs

Qualifications:

  • Strong preference for candidates willing and able to commute on a recurring basis (weekly-to-monthly) to the local Rhapsody office or shared working space.
  • Master’s Degree (MBA, M.Eng., Masters in Data Science, or similar) a plus.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including at least 4 years of technical experience with AI- or data science-driven products.
  • Hands-on experience building data science solutions to clinical, business, or operational problems.
  • Demonstrable experience with healthcare data and/or interoperability.
  • Track record of collaboration and execution.
  • Experienced and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target buyers and users; as well as with company executives
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer, prospect and internal team sites.
  • A passion for building technology that will delight users around the globe while building connections for a healthier world.
