JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood's Consulting business group is currently seeking a Field Vibration Analyst/Engineer to join our Condition Monitoring team in the US. This is a permanent position with the first 2 to 3 years being a predominantly site-based position, with the expectation to work out of a client facility 5 days a week near New Orleans, LA. This role provides excellent learning opportunities to grow in the machinery diagnostics, condition monitoring and reliability world, and is an opportunity to work with industry-leading machinery and vibration experts. RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support implementation and improvement of rotating equipment condition monitoring programs (vibration, lubrication, and thermography) including on-site data collection, analysis and recommendations for corrective action.
  2. Support implementation and improvement of rotating and reciprocating equipment monitoring programs including on-site data collection, analysis and recommendations for corrective action.
  3. Conduct field measurements of vibration data and analysis, related to rotating equipment primarily, using different data acquisition hardware and software applications.
  4. Work independently or as part of a team, on client sites, conducting routine data collection activities, and occasionally troubleshooting vibration issues across machinery, piping and/or structures.
  5. Identify opportunities to improve client equipment reliability, availability and/or performance, collaborating with clients to turn insights to their advantage.
  6. Prepare written reports of analysis findings including recommendations for corrective actions.
  7. Implement and adhere to Wood - Vibration, Dynamics & Noise (VDN) HSSE policies and best practices at all work sites.
  8. Effectively manage assigned tasks/projects to ensure on time delivery, within scope and budget, while meeting the client's expectations.
  9. Communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and team about ongoing work and schedules.
  10. Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships, including developing new business opportunities.
  11. Support the continuous improvement of systems and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a Technologist Diploma (in the Mechanical discipline) is preferred; however, applicants with relevant work experience and Vibration certification will be considered.
  2. Must have work experience in rotating machinery vibration data collection and analysis; VCAT 2 knowledge and experience is preferred.
  3. A minimum of 3 years of work experience in machinery vibration analysis is required.
  4. Knowledge of Scout analyzer and System 1 will be an asset.
  5. Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English, combined with the ability to interact and engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  6. Must be detail-oriented with strong analysis skills (i.e., quickly interpret key client evidence) combined with the ability to write high-quality technical reports.
  7. Committed to a culture of Safety in the workplace.
  8. Must have a strong interest in vibration and dynamics, performance, and reliability.
  9. Keen to develop strong consulting capability whilst engaging with clients.
  10. A keen interest in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  11. Must have valid Driver's license and be available to travel to client facilities for 40% to 50% of the time.
  12. Must be US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood.
