The primary qualification of a Project Manager is the desire and ability to successfully collaborate with our management team to perform the following:

  • Checking and verifying construction staking, lay-out and grade control.
  • Verifying that delivered materials conform to the contract.
  • Contributing to the preparation and updating of manual, three-week and computerized, project-long schedules.
  • Checking and verifying that construction items such as concrete formwork, hoisting, haul route access, traffic control, erosion control, safety plans, etc. conform to the contract and approved submittals.
  • Documenting jobsite activities.
  • Safety and Environmental meetings, inspections and reports.
  • Solicitation of proposals and procurement of Safety and Environmental materials, supplies, and subcontractor services.
  • Procure, review, forward, return, and log Safety and Environmental submittal drawings and reports.
  • Receiving, verifying, and staging Safety and Environmental materials and equipment.
  • Communicating and coordinating with representatives of the owner, utilities, service organizations, testing agencies, suppliers, subcontractors, and others.
  • Preparation and cost coding of Safety and Environmental invoices.
  • Contributing to the preparation and updating of two-week manual and project-long computerized schedules.
  • Preparing various Safety and Environmental reports.
  • Receiving, reviewing and responding to correspondence.

Initial qualifications include the following:

  • One year of experience managing highway construction projects of similar size, type, and complexity.
  • One of the following:
  • Two years’ experience as a construction project manager or superintendent on highway construction projects of similar size, type, and complexity; or Three years’ experience as a project engineer, resident engineer, foreman, construction inspector, or equivalent on highway construction projects of similar size, type, and complexity; or
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III certification or equivalent in highway construction or highway material.

Depending upon the candidate’s experience, we are willing to pay $90,000 to $110,000 per year depending upon experience and education. In addition, we offer the following:

Special consideration will be given to candidates with a college degree in construction or engineering and experience with government contracts. Applicants must also be computer literate and able to pass a drug test.
