Assembly Supervisor Job Summary:

  • Provide direction, guidance, and feedback to department personnel to achieve maximum output and efficiency.
  • Currently Hiring for a Day Shift (M-F 6am-330pm)
  • This position requires previous electromechanical assembly experience,
  • Preferred experience in GD&T and general manufacturing knowledge.
  • Takes direct supervision and direction from the plant manager.

Job Duties:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Troubleshoot machine issues. (Laser, electropolish, assembly testing equipment.)
  • Ensure machine maintenance including regular service, and schedule for machine repairs.
  • Ensure general assembly staff has all tooling needed and kept in good working order.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assign work to employees and work centers.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts and departments by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Review schedule progress daily to ensure due dates are met.
  • Manage department employee performance through training, regular performance feedback and goal setting and tracking.
  • Ensure department compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and requirements.

Assembly Processes & Operations:

  • Provide on-time delivery of completed parts without compromising quality, safety, and equipment life.
  • Communicate department capabilities and estimated completion times to Quoting and Engineering.
  • Envision mechanical processes, product processes, and operations while completing prototyping and short-run, close tolerance complex parts for industrial robotics, automation, electronics, and wafer processing in a quick turn job shop environment.

Verification of Product:

  • Monitor and protects the assets of the company and ensure that appropriate tooling and equipment is used for each job.
  • Adhere to all quality policies and meets company quality goals of on-time delivery of completed parts without compromising quality, safety or equipment life.

The experience you have:

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Trade School Certificate in a related discipline preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, develop and interface with staff members.

ComputerSkills: Basic computer skills with the ability to operate MS Windows environment, using email for communication. Usage of data collection software and ERP system is required.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data, schematics, prints and travelers is required. Effective interpersonal communication skills through a variety of methods are required.

Mathematical Skills: Proficiency with intermediate level math skills is necessary, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and some trigonometry.

Reasoning Skills: Requires the ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form is an on-going requirement.

Physical Demands: Position requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, handling, fingering, and reaching. Occasional kneeling, climbing, and squatting required. Ability to lift and pull up to 15 pounds continuously and from 15 to 15 pounds frequently, 25 to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment: The work environment for this position is that of an industrial machine shop/production facility. Employees may experience loud noises, at varying levels, throughout the workday. Available to travel when needed.

Hours for the position: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am-3:30 pm.

What to expect: The Assembly Supervisor position is a Full Time-Exempt position.
