Primary Function:

The Manager, Quality Control’s primary function is to ensure verification of outbound product quality, product traceability and other critical label and packaging information. Initiates and leads the development of methods to improve product quality. Support as needed all company efforts to achieve SQF and other industry certifications.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure that products or services meet or exceed customer expectations


Monitor and analyze data related to quality control processes, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvement.


Assist as needed with review of product specifications and communication of changes to other departments.


Actively enforce all company policies regarding traceability and compliance


Ensure all products meets or exceeds Mastronardi specifications and customer specifications


Escalate quality issues to all the appropriate parties to ensure corrective action


Must work to develop team work and a positive work environment among direct reports, between shifts and throughout the Organization.


Work with the Food Safety department on any issues concerning product quality.

Manage non-conformances and partner with Category/Commodity management on the proper disposition of the product


Train and mentor team members on quality expectations and ensuring use of product specifications.


Education/Background Requirements:

College degree or minimum of five years of experience in the quality field preferred


Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours, Rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, etc.

Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.


Highly proficient in computer-use skills(MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint).


Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.


Ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple projects with strong personal time-management skills.


Keep all company information confidential and protect proprietary information.


Working Conditions:

Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages a constant 55 degrees (except office areas). The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.

Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
