The RoleYou will play a lead role in developing and evolving CSL’s strategy, leading Enterprise-wide, often global projects, coordinating teams, identifying opportunities, evaluating options and making recommendations back to the Global Leadership Group (GLG) and Board.
This is a highly visible role internally, with responsibilities that contribute directly to scaling the company to the next phase of growth. This person may also be required to represent the company externally at conferences and events.
Lead Strategic enterprise level projects end to end to create value
Incorporate market and environmental factors and use scenario planning to develop future scenarios for the enterprise or functional areas of the business
Use experience and cross references trends within Pharma, Biotech and Dx to inform future direction of CSL
Lead strategic processes end to end
Drive continuous improvement in strategic planning processes
Manage Corporate Development projects and external resources in the delivery of projects of varying complexity
Improve Simulations capability, working with internal SMEs and external modelers to design models to create new insights into short, medium and long-term corporate strategy to lead value creation over the long term
Support M&A activities bringing strategic context to consideration of large M&A or transformational targets
Work with the therapeutic area leadership teams and various functions (e.g. Commercial, R&D, Operations) to ensure that their strategic planning and output is aligned with the corporate strategy
Iterate new opportunities and issues from the therapeutic area leadership teams and functions into the corporate planning process
Ensure the enterprise view is represented in a consistent and collaborative way when the project or assets of interest impact multiple TAs or departments (e.g. platform monoclonal antibodies, connected healthcare, digital transformation)
Enterprise level focus of strategic projects
Identify value creating opportunities for future growth
Master's and/or MBA Degree
10+ years of consulting / pharma industry experience
Experience navigating cross-functionally
Reliability and accountability
Approximately 20% domestic and international travel
