Job Description:

Office Assistant II

Our work depends on Office Assistant II joining our team to provide direct administrative support as a Training Support Staff member for the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering N7 (Training) department, and support the Training Support Lead in the accomplishment of all assigned tasks.

Duties include, but are not limited to, transcribing and formatting meeting minutes, preparing and submitting monthly reports and invoices, entering data and formatting documents, performing final reviews and quality assurance inspections of all deliverables, providing media design/graphic and additional administrative assistance as needed. Tasks must be completed efficiently and accurately to avoid rework. Excellent written communication skills are a requirement of employment. This is a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

General Requirements. 

Training Support staff members shall be proficient in using the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) and Adobe Acrobat to proofread, edit, and format training course materials; write, organize, and track correspondence; capture and transcribe meeting minutes in approved format; and to complete various special projects and other assignments as tasked. This is full-time, temporary position on-site at CSFE Port Hueneme, CA.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Candidate must be highly proficient in the grammatical rules of the English language and have working knowledge of the Naval Correspondence Manual,

Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.

It is preferred, but not required, that candidates have a strong US Navy Personnel Specialist or Yeoman (or other service equivalent) background. 

Education.

High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Other specific requirements:

Candidates must reside within commutable distance to Port Hueneme, CA.

Candidates must be a US citizen with a qualifying background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for a Common Access Card (CAC).

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $24.65 - $33.35. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
