Work Environment

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Saint John, you will engage in meaningful virtual interactions with clients, utilizing advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems to document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health statuses to understand their unique challenges and needs.

  • Facilitate regular therapy sessions via telehealth, equipping clients with coping strategies and actionable tools to navigate their mental health issues.
  • Maintain thorough records of client interactions, treatment progress, and referrals to other healthcare providers when necessary, such as psychiatrists or specialists.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging trends in mental health therapy and telehealth practices.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in the mental health field, demonstrating a profound understanding of various mental health disorders.
  • Proven experience providing individual and group therapy using culturally responsive and evidence-based methodologies.
  • Effective crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong therapeutic relationships with diverse clients.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and various technological tools to enhance telehealth services.
  • A commitment to upholding professional ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and setting clear boundaries.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to improve overall patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience within a telehealth setting or familiarity with virtual therapy modalities.
  • Specialized training or certifications in specific therapeutic techniques or mental health interventions.
