As a Category Enablement Senior Analyst, you’ll help us produce data-driven decision-making tools to support our Category Management teams. You’ll use Power BI, SQL and Excel to design and implement reporting solutions that provide actionable insights. You’ll use this software for data visualization, data modeling and statistical analysis techniques, particularly Power BI. You’ll use SQL for querying databases, managing large datasets and proper report modeling. If you enjoy learning and continuously improving your skillsets, this role is right for you.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location (Corporate Campus, Richfield, MN) and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do
  • Analyze inventory data, sales trends, and forecasting metrics to identify patterns and provide actionable insights
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing best practices for data governance and management
  • Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and support decision-making
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various sources for analysis and reporting
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data needs and business objectives
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of efficient workflows

Basic qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in data science, business analytics, statistics or related field
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft office Suites (excel, power point)

Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, business analytics, statistics or related field
  • 2+ years of experience using Power BI for data visualization and reporting
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
  • Strong business acumen and experience with forecasting and demand planning activities
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends and provide actionable insights
  • 2+ years of experience with Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
