Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Designer to lead engineering design projects focused on residential and site infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CAD standards and advanced Civil 3D functionality, as well as the ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams. This position involves overseeing design elements, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, and providing quality control for project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead designer for a variety of residential and site infrastructure projects.
  • Develop, modify, and review models, plans, details, and drawings according to established CAD standards and advanced Civil 3D functionality.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of complex residential and site projects, especially regarding drainage, grading, and infrastructure constraints.
  • Implement project-specific design criteria and coordinate with Engineers, CAD Designers, Technicians, and Sub-consultants (if required).
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and oversee the design and technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with codes and engineering practices.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to align on project schedules, budgets, and timelines, maintaining accountability through project completion.
  • Conduct Quality Control reviews of design elements and project deliverables before external release.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues with minimal oversight.
  • Stay informed about regulatory criteria and requirements from local, state, and federal agencies, ensuring project compliance.
  • Conduct business in a professional, ethical manner to serve clients and uphold the company’s standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role may include supervisory duties within the Operations Department. Responsibilities could involve interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring employees, as well as managing performance and resolving issues in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Certification in CAD software, with advanced knowledge of Civil 3D.
  • 10 years of experience with CAD and Civil 3D, including at least 5 years in land development engineering; GIS experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to mentor CAD Drafters, Technicians, and Engineering Interns.
  • Strong project coordination skills with experience managing multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email platforms, along with Civil 3D and AutoCAD expertise.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions and adapt to company policies and procedures.
