Founded in 2023, Normain is an AI platform for knowledge work. Our product lets highly paid, highly skilled employees scale their expertise with AI.
We’re on a mission to fundamentally transform knowledge work away from repetitive, boring tasks that are often part of the work domain experts do. Instead, we envision a world where AI lets humans be more human, and domain experts can spread their expertise and knowledge in ways that actually have a great impact for the better: by listening to- and building empathy with their clients—while AI takes care of the rest.
With some of Stockholm’s best tech advisors and business angels onboard as our extended team, we’re ready to kickstart Normain’s next chapter.
About the RoleWe’re a diverse and passionate team of three co-founders looking for a Founding Engineer that will join Normain at the earliest part of our journey. We bring expertise from BostonConsulting Group, Stanford, and other Nordic startups to build something truly great. In this role, you will get the opportunity to shape Normain’s technology at its core. This is a rare opportunity to join the ride of a lifetime, and be an integral part of it from the very beginning. In this role, you will work closely with the whole team, but especially with our technical Co-founder Kalle Hansson . Kalle has almost 20 years of experience from full-stack development, and spent most of his time before Normain as CTO & Co-founder at other tech startups. Together with Kalle and the other Engineers, you will form our core Engineering team. You will all work broadly with implementing features required to deliver on Normain’s short-and long-term roadmap.
It’s paramount that the platform we build is performant from an AI perspective, and is easy to use for non-technical stakeholders. It requires us to translate technological concepts like RAG, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning into UX concepts that can be easily understood and used by our customers. We believe you either have some thoughts on how to best solve these challenges, or are eager to learn.
What you’ll do Feature developmentDrive Normain’s innovation by implementing cutting-edge features into our platform and its infrastructure.
Contribute to shaping Normain's technology foundation, focusing on scalability, security, and operational excellence to deliver on our ambitious product roadmap.
Translate complex AI concepts into intuitive UX designs, ensuring our technology is accessible and impactful for niche consulting firms.
Optimize AI output and model performance, employing the latest techniques like RAG and prompt engineering, and—later down the line—fine-tuning to deliver scalable solutions.
Proficiency in TypeScript, with extensive experience in building robust and scalable web applications.
Experience with React.
Proficiency in building and maintaining APIs. Experience with Node.js or other server-side languages compatible with TypeScript.
Strong experience from working with SQL databases.
Experience using Azure's AI solutions.
Experience from self-hosting LLMs.
Experience in using tRPC.
Experience with integrating GenAI APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Gemini and/or Mistral) and/or working with AI/ML models.
An understanding of AI/ML concepts and experience in applying them to real-world problems.
Experience from working in cross-functional teams where you collaborated with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven leadership experience in a senior engineering role.
Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and influence the technical direction of the company.
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
A graduate degree in engineering or similar discipline from a tier one university.
Experience from working at a technology startup, and like the rapid pace.
Experience from navigating through a high growth phase of a startup company.
Experience from taking a product from zero to one, i.e. laying the very foundation of a product in a rapidly changing environment.
Are passionate about the latest AI technology.
