Job Description:

Baker Tilly has an incredible career opportunity for a Federal Credits and Incentives (C&I) Senior Associate, Tax to join our growing Federal statutory credits practice. Located near Baker Tilly office highly preferred.

Our C&I Statutory Tax Credits practice is made up of professionals across the U.S., who work with clients to develop an efficient and cost-effective approach for identifying, calculating and documenting eligible federal credits, mostly under the Inflation Reduction Act, but also including other credits related to energy efficiency, alternative power, domestic manufacturing, workplace diversity and economic stimulation by geography.

What you’ll do:

  • Be a trusted advisor to middle market clients by helping to provide strategic federal tax credit consulting services that includes:
    • Working with other industry experts to document eligibility and qualification of clients for certain federal tax credits.
    • Researching and drafting technical memoranda related to federal tax credit matters.
    • Supporting industry experts with tax technical issues.
    • Developing industry thought leadership including writing internal and external articles and preparing internal and external presentations.
    • Developing an understanding of each client’s business and become a functional expert in the relevant technical area.
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with colleagues, clients and the community.
  • Be part of a growing new team.
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs.
  • Act as a career advisor to associates.
  • Review work prepared by Associates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field required; Masters or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPA or JD highly preferred.
  • Two (2)+ year(s) of work experience in federal tax consulting, preferably federal statutory credits.
  • 2+ year(s) of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling team members is desired.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferred.

The compensation range for this role is $81,560 to $143,980. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
