Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Director to oversee tax credit compliance oversight in our supportive living communities and independent tax credit properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the compliance department team members, including Move-In Coordinators, in achieving regulatory compliance and excellence in resident files and audits.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers of the Senior Suites and regional team members to ensure compliance processes align with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Develop, update, and maintain compliance standards, training content, and reporting databases to ensure policy and procedure alignment.
  • Assist in reviewing and correcting 8823's corrections and correspondence, and build relationships with local and regional offices of regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting data bases, ensuring all required forms are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide comprehensive training to the compliance department and Property Manager team on file reviews to ensure eligibility requirements for multiple states are met.
  • Evaluate and ensure accuracy and completeness of HUD, Tax Credit, and other required forms.
  • Maintain up-to-date training requirements per state and/or funding source, and travel independently to various locations as needed.
  • Train staff on compliance specific state requirements, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with compliance regulations for federal multi-family housing programs, such as Fair Housing, HUD, LIHTC, IHDA, City of Chicago, Project Based Section 8, and Tenant based Section 8 vouchers.
  • Extensive knowledge of Section 42 and HUD policies and procedures.
  • Section 42 tax credit and HUD certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, outstanding attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
  • Computer skills: experience with MS Office, Outlook, and Onesite.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $95,000 - $115,000, depending on location and qualifications.
