Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the aerodynamic design and analysis of high- and low-pressure turbine components
  • Drive the development of advanced aerodynamic technology to improve engine performance and durability
  • Cultivate advanced skills in aerodynamic design, including use of cutting-edge numerical and experimental techniques
  • Draw conclusions from component and engine test data to validate aerodynamic designs
  • Develop analytical tools/software to improve aerodynamic design and predictive capabilities
  • Formulate and execute plans to achieve technical and program requirements
  • Develop lean processes to improve organizational productivity and efficiency
  • Execute trade studies to meet project requirements, collaborating with horizontal organizations

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft engines or industrial gas turbine products with at least 2 years in turbomachinery aerodynamics

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering relevant to turbomachinery aerodynamics with minimum of 7 years of engineering experience OR Doctorate Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering focused on aerodynamics/compressible flows
  • Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or aerodynamic testing techniques
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic vision for product advancement
  • Flexible, friendly, and inclusive; comfortable working in multi-disciplinary global teams
  • Proven group facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Highly motivated and passionate
  • Keen listener and innately driven to succeed
