Qualifications

LCSW:
  • Possess a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent (MSSW, MSSA) degree from a graduate school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to independently practice social work in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at a local MTF.
  • A minimum of two (2) years CURRENT experience (post issuance of clinical licensure) in the independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting. Experience working in a government setting such a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF is preferable.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical social work services. Must have experience in brief behavioral interventions. LCSW will be required to receive and maintain clinical practice privileges.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain either a Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association. No substitutions or exceptions allowed.
LPC:
  • Possess a Master's degree or higherlevel degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and
  • Post-Master's degree counseling practice qualifying for independent licensure. Two (2) years of post- graduate experience in various modalities and skill to provide individual, group, couples and family treatment/counseling.
  • Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) or an examination determined by the Director, Defense Health Agency or designee as equal in scope, intent, and content to the NCMHCE
  • Maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to independently practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain either a Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.

LMFT:
  • Possess a Master's or Doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or
  • Possess a qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Must possess a clinical membership credential issued by the AAMFT.
  • Maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to independently practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain either a Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association. No substitutions or exceptions allowed.
Required Skills/Training
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Must comply with Safety, Health and Environmental plan, policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with the Quality Assurance plan, policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
  • Responsible for completing all required training.
  • Perform other assignments and duties, as required.
Desired Experience, Skills or Training
  • Prior military and/or SOF experience.
  • Experience working in a Government setting such a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF.
  • Prior experience in Substance Abuse/Disorder Treatment
  • Position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
Specific Requirements
  • Performance under this contract may require staff ride on watercraft, aircraft, and other vehicles utilized by special operation units to accomplish their missions. This first-hand experience and observation would provide staff a better understanding of unit member's physical and mental environment. This experience would assist the contract staff in providing targeted/tailored support services.
  • Personnel may be required to produce papers, reports or presentations related to their specific area of subject matter expertise for publication on webpages or periodicals; and/or presentation at government sponsored meetings, conferences, and symposia. All data and materials produced under the performance of this contract shall be the property of the US Government as provided for in the relevant contract clauses.
Responsibilities

The MHC shall function within an operational unit, as a Behavioral Health Care Provider. The MHC shall attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, commander's staff meetings, and other meetings required by applicable regulations or as directed by the unit Commander of his/her designee.

The MHC is responsible for Implementing policies, conducts screenings, clinical counseling and case management services, and prevention programming. Serves as a point of contact for behavioral health services for active duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, their families, and others as authorized by DoD policy. Provide a spectrum of behavioral health interventions, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, and evidenced-based therapies in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders using the following skills: individual, family and group psychotherapy, couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.

The MHC shall consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts as required. The MHC shall maintain accurate and current notes in the paper medical records (if created) and electronic medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment. The MHC shall participate in military specific training/activities (e.g., security clearances, use of the DoD or service specific clinical practice guidelines, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress) and others as directed by the unit Commander or his/her designee.

Conduct peer (record) or quality of care reviews as directed by the local government credentialing body and local medical oversight process. This position may include clinical supervision of unlicensed providers or trainees.

Plans, develops and implements programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure and unit connectedness. SME on Behavioral health issues relating to rehabilitation and treatment plans with projections for proposed changes to improve programming. Evaluates community resources to determine availability, applicability and best utilization of services for potential implementation. Conducts ongoing review of treatment plans and treatment effectiveness to improve services. Promotes and maintains communication and harmonious working relationships within the unit, POTFF program, and other DoD and outside agencies. Provide grief support to Gold Star Families.

Providers will attend the USARMY Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care (SUDCC) If comprehensive substance use disorder treatment is identified as a requirement by the gaining unit. The gaining unit will forward a MOA identifying the requirement to the COR for concurrence and submission to USARMY IMCOM in order to be placed on the waiting list for training.
