Volt is immediately hiring for a Maintenance Technician II in South Gate, CA.

As a Maintenance Technician II you will:

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Disassembles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts in hydraulic equipment such as valves, motors, cylinders and pumps; conditioning equipment such as grinding and abrasive blast machines; mobile hydraulic equipment; and other plant equipment as designated by supervisor.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Daily inspection and record keeping of various pieces of plant equipment

This is a full time opportunity

Hours are 6am-2:30pm
Monday - Friday, possible Saturday

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings, manufacturer's literature, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors or managers.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Monitor equipment operating conditions and keep records of those conditions.
Use of hand tools.

Pay Rate: $25-30 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
