With locations in Parker and Broomfield, they serve residential, commercial, and municipal clients across the Denver metropolitan area. Position Overview
As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving the company's expansion by managing and improving the procurement process. Your responsibilities will include vendor negotiations, relationship building, strategic planning, and ensuring cost-effective procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have strong procurement experience, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic ProcurementDevelop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives, emphasizing cost reduction, quality, and timely deliveries.
  • Procurement OversightManage the full procurement process, from sourcing to final delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Vendor NegotiationIdentify and negotiate with vendors and trade partners to secure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to guarantee high-quality products and services.
  • Market ResearchConduct ongoing market research to identify new suppliers, evaluate their offerings, and negotiate contracts that fit the company's needs.
  • Performance TrackingMonitor procurement metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and quality, to drive improvements.
  • Process ImprovementContinuously look for ways to enhance the procurement process, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Subcontractor OnboardingManage the onboarding of subcontractors, ensuring that requirements are clearly communicated and followed.
  • Logistics CoordinationOversee logistics and shipping activities to ensure the timely arrival of shipments, both domestic and international.
  • Inventory ManagementUse MRP systems to maintain optimal inventory levels and coordinate monthly counts with the CFO and Regional VP of Operations.
  • Compliance & ReportingEnsure that all procurement activities are in line with company policies and industry regulations, providing regular updates to the Regional VP of Operations.

Position Requirements

  • EducationBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience in the construction industry).
  • CertificationsCertified Purchasing Manager (CPPM, CPM, CPSM, or PMP) preferred.
  • Technical SkillsExperience with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and ERP systems like SAP or similar platforms.
  • Regulatory KnowledgeFamiliarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is a plus.
  • BlueprintsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • OSHA CertificationOSHA 30 certification preferred.
