Region: Southwest - Preferably candidate would reside in Greater Los Angeles Area; however, other locations within the Southwest U.S. will be considered.

Summary/Objective

The Regional Business Leader is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales goals for a specific region. This includes hiring, coaching, developing and motivating a cross functional team to consistently deliver strong performance. This cross functional team will likely be comprised of Senior Clinical Specialists, Clinical Nurse Educator(s) and a Strategic Account Manager. The successful Regional Business Leader will have a strong understanding of the regional oncology business, be able to develop and execute strategic account plans and ensure the team has clear expectations and accountability. Top candidates will have demonstrated the ability to create and lead cohesive cross functional teams and build an engaging and solutions focused culture.

Essential Functions

  1. Consistently meet or exceed performance goals
  2. Hire, develop, lead and retain a high performing team of Senior Clinical Specialists, Clinical Nurse Educators, and Strategic Account Managers
  3. Lead the team in the development and execution of regional business plans in order to maximize regional or territory level opportunities
  4. Lead the team in collaborating cross functionally to identify and prioritize where to focus efforts and draw on insights to effectively execute business plans
  5. Provide consistent coaching by identifying the unique needs of individuals and situations to maximize effectiveness, drive accountability & ensure results
  6. Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources across the region to identify drivers and provide strategic direction in resource utilization
  7. Develop relationships with key regional strategic accounts to identify and maximize opportunities
  8. Work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross functional partners to develop and improve marketing and market access resources, data reports, incentive compensation plans, brand awareness and customer engagement
  9. Plan and conduct meetings to drive strategy, execution and professional development
  10. Foster a culture grounded in accountability, teamwork, innovation and passion for delivering results
  11. Champion and establish a culture of compliance that recognizes and rewards high performance

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position may manage all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of any employees reporting to this role within that department.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this position. The physical demands of the office are normally associated with extended amounts of time sitting and using office equipment, including a computer, keyboard and mouse, which can cause muscle strain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Periodic light lifting of supplies and materials may apply. Work is performed in an office environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. This position regularly requires extended hours and may require weekend work.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel may be required (up to 70%).

Required Education & Professional Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with at least 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Oncology experience highly preferred
  • Experience in leading Strategic Account Managers, Clinical Specialists and Clinical Nurse Educators
  • Proven track record of results
  • Driving results in a competitive market

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Breast cancer knowledge and experience
  • MBA

Compensation Range

The base compensation range for this position is $220k - $250k per year, higher compensation may be available for someone with advanced skills and/or experience.
