Surgical Services Nurse Educator

A leading acute care hospital located on the south shore of Long Island is now seeking an experienced Surgical Services Nurse Educator to join their award-winning healthcare organization.
For more than 50 years, this community based hospital has offered advanced inpatient, outpatient, and tertiary care services to the surrounding communities. This location boasts a Level III Trauma Center, an awarded Cardiac Center, newly advanced surgical services, imaging and laboratory care, and much more. Reporting to the Director of Nursing Professional Development, the Surgical Services Nurse Educator is responsible for developing and monitoring ongoing orientation and education programs for the operating room nursing staff. The Surgical Services Nurse Educator will serve as the department orientator and preceptor, operate as a researcher and leader, assess the skills of nursing staff, coordinate with department leadership, identify areas of improvement, and ensure all education plans adhere to state and federal nursing standards.

- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing BSN from an accredited program
- Current Registered Nurse RN license in the state of New York or ability to obtain
