Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Pathologist to serve as the Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology in our Department of Pathology. This senior leadership position will provide oversight for the Divisions of Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, and the Autopsy service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Divisions of Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, and the Autopsy service.
  • Support continued excellence in clinical service, education, and research.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse team of pathologists and support staff.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical pathology and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • MD, DO (or foreign equivalent) in Anatomic Pathology.
  • American Board of Pathology board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology.
  • Eligibility for New York State licensure.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the potential to serve as an outstanding educator of medical students, pathology residents, and clinical fellows.
  • Demonstration of scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research and experience in medical education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or sub-specialty area.
  • Administrative experience in an academic medical center and a track record of scholarship.
