JOB SUMMARY:  

At Marriott, our success is measured by the joy and satisfaction we bring our customers.  Much of that success is driven by our ability to provide hotels with technology to allow personalized guest experience, staying at one of our 8,000+ properties, or taking advantage of the amenities offered at one of our 30 brands.  We are seeking an individual who can advance our global operation architecture.  

This includes extending our property technology architecture to enable associates to deliver guest efficient services through a variety of channels as well as provide cutting edge technology to allow our guests better self-service experiences and to feel at home when away from home.

Works within Product Squads (teams) and receives direction from Product Owner and engineering lead to develop solutions in accordance with technology roadmaps.  Provides inputs to technology roadmaps. Governs and reviews the output of the managed Service Providers who are responsible for the actual hands-on delivery of services, managing outcomes and results.

CANDIDATE PROFILE  

Education and Experience 
Required:
•    8+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting mission critical systems.
•    5+ years hands-on experience with application development tools
•    Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
•    Hands-on experience with at least 2 large scale travel and hospitality system implementations.
•    Strong proficiency in Microservices architecture with experience architecting solutions on multiple clouds.
•    Solid background in Microservice integration patterns, including SOAP, REST, Streaming & Batch API, Platform Events etc.
•    Experience in Spring Boot and Must have written/consumed Spring boot Service
•    Having good knowledge of AWS cloud and deploy the app through EKS.
•    Keep abreast with the latest Cloud technology and PCI/PII data protection features and industry best practices.
•    Proactively suggest and implement innovative solutions for platform optimization and improved user experience.
•    Architect scalable, maintainable applications and detailed designs.
•    Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry developments.

Preferred:
•    Stronger experience in Hospitality or Travel IT especially on Reservation and Revenue management systems.
•    Broad and deep experience in Cloud, Web, API, Microservices, Search, and NoSQL technologies.  
•    Awareness of mission critical zTPF system architecture.
•    Experience architecting applications that support multi-cloud provider and globally distributed deployments.
•    Ability to manage multiple solutions across multiple projects across different timelines
•    Experience authoring IT standards, frameworks and patterns related to the modern application design
•    Experience in the deployment of business solutions in Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and On-Prem environments
•    Working Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as the Zachman Framework, TOGAF or FEAF
•    Demonstrated background in architecting in an Agile-delivery environment, (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
•    Passionate learner who actively seeks to learn about new technologies and approaches
•    Active in the Open Source Community
•    Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements
•    Comfortable leading collaborative design work in cross-functional teams

Managing the Day-To-Day Architecture 
•    Develops long-term strategic goals for architecture vision and standards in conjunction with users, product managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
•    Assesses and determines governance, stewardship, and frameworks across the organization.
•    Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and an overall architecture roadmap.
•    Conducts capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks.

•    Develops and promotes architecture methodologies and standards.

•    Defines requirements to promote the success of enterprise-level application rollouts (e.g. ERP, SCM, CRM, SAP, etc.).
•    Defines requirements to address issues in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.
•    Defines requirements to develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of architecture.
•    Defines requirements to create strategies and plans for security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving.
•    Documents architectures and environments in order to maintain a current and accurate technology views
•    Defines requirements to verify that strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance.

The salary range for this position is $113,850 to $216,315 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
