FTE: Part Time, 0.5, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $40.86 - $63.33 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:
Assists nursing leadership in providing guidance at the department/unit level to enhance patient safety and optimize quality patient outcomes. Assumes delegated responsibility for oversight of unit operations and professional practice standards.

Responsibilities:
Coaches and develops staff, serving as a role model for staff by demonstrating effective communication skills and problem-solving techniques and in providing direct patient care. Collaborates with nursing leadership to meet the educational needs of the unit(s) to maintain continuity of care related to specific patient-care requirements.

Assists nursing leadership with the evaluation of staff. Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care for the unit and the patient population. Participates in providing education and monitoring staff competencies.

Works with nursing leadership to identify and resolve operational/budgetary, patient, and personnel issues. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care protocols, guidelines and strategic initiatives. Approves timecards, creates schedules and audits timekeeping.

Reporting to law enforcement and adhering to mandated reporting in a manner that promotes informed decisions. Provides victim advocacy and/or expert testimony in court trials. Presence at hospital and community meetings.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Credentials:
    Essential:
    * Registered Nurse
    * Basic Life Support
  • Other information:
    Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN). Completion of initial Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training (40-64 hour course or equivalent).
    Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
    Minimum Experience: 3 years of experience in related clinical areas.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
