Competitive Starting Pay: $38.00 – $41.00 hourly, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Working independently or with a team
  • Identifies problems with mechanical, hydraulic, diesel & electrical systems and executes solutions.
  • Reads and understands hydraulic & electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit)
  • Performs maintenance & mechanical repairs (Cranes, Top loaders, Side loaders, Hostlers, Forklifts, etc.)
  • Maintains routine maintenance schedules on all heavy equipment.
  • Reads and documents repairs using an established reporting system. (i.e., written workorders, taking pictures, using computer)
  • Performs welding.
  • Operates diesel or electric powered automatic semi-trailer mover.
  • Operate overhead cranes, side loaders, hostlers, and forklifts.
  • Communicates with other terminal operators, mechanics, and office staff via two-way radio.
  • Responsible for entire mechanical operation, and for the entire power shop operation (safety, administration, and productivity)
  • Responsible for training and orientation of all employees and ensures that every employee has the necessary knowledge, skills, and ability to perform each task assigned.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of preventative maintenance program and work force to achieve goals of 100% compliance.
  • Directly supervises and evaluates all levels of mechanics and promotes as required.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly.
  • Wear hardhat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, reflective vest/belt, welding helmet/glasses

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Service Technician experience required
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Previous crane mechanic experience not required but a plus
  • Hydraulic systems experience required (Pumps, valves, motors, filters, and hoses)
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Able to work in a safety focus environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years of heavy equipment knowledge
  • Hydraulic and electrical maintenance experience is required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
