Responsibilities:
Uses the nursing process to provide patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and awareness of unit practice, issues, trends, and technology/instrumentation. Provides daily coordination of procedures ensuring that all resources are available for their specialty. Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of staffing roles. Provide technical support for their specialty. Assists others and provides feedback to staff on setting priorities for action and anticipating patient care needs. Provides direct patient care through application of the nursing process. Applies nursing process to the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Consistently collects and analyzes patient/significant other data. Records initial database, ongoing assessment, and evaluation of patient responses. Develops, revises, and documents plan of care including discharge planning in collaboration with the patient, significant others, and health care providers. Demonstrates competence in administering and monitoring therapeutic interventions for the most complex patients and is sought by others for this ability. EDUCATION:Required: Bachelors Degree in Nursing or an experienced nurse working on obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within 4 years of hire.
Preferred: Master?s Degree in Nursing. Master?s Degree in a health related field with certification in a nursing specialty will be considered in lieu of a Masters in Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in specialty area required. Three (3) years as RN preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
RN | Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Certification in a clinical specialty as defined by National Certification requirements is required within two (2) years of hire into RN Specialty Manager position.
PREFERRED
ACLS | Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
PALS | Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred.
