EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Prepares or assist in the preparation of a wide variety of foods, such as sweet rolls, buns, breads, cakes, pies, cookies, eggs, cereal, spaghetti, hamburgers, tacos, burritos, pizzas, and main course meats; selects, measures, and prepares ingredients for recipes; serves food in cafeteria; assists in the maintenance of records on the number of items sold; cleans and maintains food service facilities, equipment and utensils; operates dishwashing machine and other kitchen appliances such as grills, ovens steamers, stoves and mixers; stores supplies; may direct the work of student assistants; may collect money and tickets received from sale of food and beverages. MINIMUM QUAIIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Basic Food serving utensils and equipment; Methods of cleaning and preparing vegetables, fruits, and other foods for cooking; Methods of preparing, cooking, baking, and serving foods in large quantity; Kitchen sanitation and safety precautions; Care and use of standard food service equipment; Methods of cleaning and maintaining food service areas, utensils, and equipment; Sanitary and safety requirements of food preparation. and Ability to: Operate various food service equipment and appliances; Prepare meats and baked goods in large quantities; Understand and carry out oral and written directions; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work. and Training and Experience: One year of experience in quantity food preparation including experience in cooking and/or baking a wide variety of food items; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledges and abilities. Salary Range: 4.5 Work Year: 9.5, 12 Bargaining Unit: Teamsters
