Responsibilities

Coordinate a centralized bed management system to facilitate efficient admissions and transfers, optimize occupancy and avoid delays in service.

* Communicate with clinical staff to determine status of pending discharges, transfers and bed availability and plans bed assignments accordingly.
* Review all admissions and transfers for clinical/unit appropriateness and medical necessity.
* Take appropriate action in the event criteria are not met or appropriate resources are not available.
* Provide direction and support to admissions coordinators to ensure efficient patient access and flow.
* Analyze bed management data, identify issues and potential resolutions and prepare reports for executive review.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

* Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date

or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of

Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained

prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

* Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of

hire.
