Position: Nursing Assistant; Registered (NAR)

Location: Med/Surg & Transitional Care Unit - Hospital

Status: Non-exempt

Summer Temp: No. This is a year-round employment position.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7AM-7PM

FTE: 48 hours per two-week pay period

Weekends: Every Third Weekend

Holidays: Rotating

Description:

The NAR with oversight by the supervisor provides exceptional customer service to patients and visitors through welcoming behaviors, effective communication, and information sharing. They will assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include some indirect patient care activities in the nursing unit such as assisting with toileting, brushing of teeth, positioning, bathing, rehab cares and dressing. This position organizes and maintains unit supplies necessary for daily activities, prepares and maintains patient records, performs data entry into the computerized system. Simultaneously manages many activities impacting patient care. Provides exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, providers and staff. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Must possess current certification as a Nursing Assistant, Registered and be listed on the Minnesota Board of Nursing - Nursing Assistant Registry


* Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to meet facility required physical job requirements


* Candidate is required to have current BLS/CPR certification


* Strong customer service focus with ability to work independently and as a member of the team


* Has the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize on an on-going basis


* Excellent communication skill set and ability to navigate Windows-based computer system


* Previous EMR experience preferred Excellian knowledge a plus



Schedule & Benefits:

We currently have a 48-hour straight Day position available. This position is scheduled 12-hour shifts and is fully benefits eligible.
