Position: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Department: Perioperative Services Shift: Days Call Requirements: one (1) evening a week, every 5th weekend and holiday Position Type: Full or Part Time Hours/Pay Period: 48-64 (desired FTE based on candidate preference) Call Rotation: Yes WE ARE GROWING Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the surgical team providing care to patients in the operating room, procedure room, endoscopy suite, and sterile processing settings. Working under the supervision of a surgeon and/or Registered Nurse, the CST will help facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive/surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The CST possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. In addition, he/she performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, storage, distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment, and performs other duties as assigned or required. This position will be scheduled in all specialties within the department including but not limited to General Surgery, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Pain, OB/GYN, Urology, and Gastroenterology. This role will participate in the surgical technologist call rotation. Call coverage will be based on organization need. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program * Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (CST) * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification * Two years hospital/ambulatory surgical setting preferred * Previous experience with sterile processing preferred * Excellent communication skillset required * Candidate must adhere to safety protocols and strict patient privacy guidelines Preferred: * OR/CSR experience * Sterile Processing certification Schedule: This fully benefits eligible position is scheduled 48-64 hours per 2-week pay period (FTE is based on candidate preference) and participates in our call rotation. Monday-Friday hours/schedule vary based on surgical block schedules and volumes. Call is every 5th weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) and holiday, plus one evening per week.
