The Rotary Die Cut Operator is a crucial role to Manaflex's growth as a start-up. An ideal candidate would be flexible to start with a 3-month full-time hourly contract, working on-site at our new manufacturing facility.


Responsibilities 

Technical Machine Operations: 

  • Set up and operate rotary die-cutting machines based on job specifications. 
  • Leverage various foil metals as a material for die-cutting machines  
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of machines for optimal performance. 
  • Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at peak capacity and speed. 
  • Understand and apply the principles of rotary cutting machine operation, including machine setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting  
  • Receive large, printed rolls of material and process them through a rotary cutting machine 

Quality Assurance: 

  • Conduct routine inspections of finished products for defects and ensure quality assurance. 
  • Monitor and adhere to specifications for each customer order to ensure quality. 

Troubleshooting and Downtime Management: 

  • Troubleshoot and address any machine issues promptly to minimize downtime. 
  • Complete Maintenance Work Orders for necessary repairs and preventive maintenance. 

Collaboration and Training: 

  • Collaborate with team members to efficiently achieve production goals. 
  • Crosstrain on other machines. 

Process Optimization: 

  • Understand and apply cutting machine operation principles, including setup and troubleshooting. 
  • Set up the machine to job order specifications, including die selection, roll winding, and lamination. 

Maintenance and Inventory Management: 

  • Perform regular machine maintenance to ensure proper functioning. 
  • Manage inventory, and monitor raw materials, and stock levels for timely material procurement. 

Production Coordination: 

  • Responsible for day-to-day machine operation, ensuring production efficiency and quality. 
  • Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely order completion. 
  • Monitor the production process, addressing potential issues or delays. 

Compliance and Reporting: 

  • Adhere to best practices for safety and compliance protocols. 
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards. 

Collaboration with Other Departments: 

  • Collaborate with quality control, logistics, and design teams to ensure coordination throughout production.  

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a similar role. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Trade school completion.
  • Experience working with engineers.
  • Experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), including CAD drafting and design. 
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for engineering, architectural, or manufacturing purposes 
  • Proficient in interpreting and creating technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
