PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As the Assistant Director of Banquet Services, you will be charged with managing all facets of our banquet services on a daily basis. Your role will involve ensuring that all operations are conducted in alignment with our departmental standards and the overall policies and procedures of the property.

PRINCIPAL DUITES & RESPONSBILITES:

  • Manages assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and Bellagio.
  • Works closely with Catering Manager regarding servicing of events.
  • Attends preplanning meetings with Catering Manager for upcoming Groups
  • Works directly with Banquet Supervisors and Assistant Managers on staffing ratios, room lay outs, and operation of events, menu implementation and operation of events.
  • Oversees the Assistant Managers and Banquet Supervisors and ensures they are following department and hotel policiesand procedures and adhering to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Reviews Banquet Event Orders and has a complete understanding of the events as planned by the client and cateringmanager which is shared with the Banquet Supervisors and Managers handling events.
  • Manages and participates in the ordering and inventory control of consumable products and some equipment whilemaintaining an acceptable COG.
  • Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company's coreservice standards and brand attributes.
  • Attends classes to expand product knowledge, human resource knowledge and fiscal efficiencies.
  • Able to create weekly banquet schedules in accordance with proper rotation and in compliance with the collectivebargaining agreement.
  • Participates in pre-booking of banquet service staff for all large and high-profile events
  • Participates in staff meetings with Banquet Team to ensure we are remaining consistent with our Strategic Plan and visionfor the department. Communicates any new policies and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 (two) Years of leadership experience, leading a team
  • 4 (four) Years of experience as a Banquet Manager
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Working Knowledge of a Point of Sale (P.O.S) system
  • Previous experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System
  • Previous experience with working/ability to read Banquet Event Orders (BEO)
