Responsibilities

Ascension Saint Agnes is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist to serve as Section Chief of the Cardiology Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Saint Agnes to provide physician leadership and medical services to patients.

Responsibilities:

* Provide oversight of healthcare delivered under the aegis of assigned area.
* Assume bottom-line responsibility for assigned capital and operating budgets.
* Meet or exceed budgeted target.
* Supervise subsections.
* Oversee deployment of staff, employee development, performance and satisfaction.
* Review credentials, procedures, skills and clinical performance.
* Monitor safety and adverse events.
* Prepare regular performance reports.
* Develop needed inpatient and outpatient care systems, organizes and directs inpatient services, call schedule, and/or outpatient care.
* Contribute to education of residents, students and staff.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

* Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
* Board certified/eligible in Specialty in compliance with hospital Medical Staff by-laws required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

* Doctor of Medicine (MD), or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
