The Head of Financial Crimes is responsible for executing the enterprise-wide anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, and market surveillance compliance risk management programs through a global team of approximately 150 professionals.As the Global Head of Financial Crimes, you will…Continue to improve and build upon the global financial crimes compliance program to keep pace with applicable global regulations and the risk profile of the companyAs a member of the Corporate Compliance Senior Leadership Team, provide collaborative financial crimes technical subject matter expertise/advice to business leaders and corporate functions heads across the companyEnsure the establishment and maintenance of sustainable and effective processes, internal controls, policies, and proceduresFormulate the financial crimes global strategy and plan, including budget and resourcing needs of the global financial crimes teamDevelop Objectives and Key Results, Key Performance Indicators and Risk Appetite Metrics to measure and monitor risk management tolerancesManage teams of the Financial Intelligence Unit, Enhanced Due Diligence, Market Surveillance and Anti-Bribery & CorruptionAnalyze complex financial crime matters and provide advice and solutions to effectively mitigate and manage riskServe as the senior level contact with other internal functional areas and external parties who engage with the company on financial crime matters such as regulators, law enforcement and the prosecutorial communityLead or represent Corporate Compliance on internal governance fora, as appropriateServe as the BSA Officer for regulatory authorities in the United StatesLead a global team of Money Laundering Reporting Officers across Europe and AsiaKeep senior management apprised of issues globally and provide regular reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Management Committees and Board of DirectorsDevelop and execute financial crimes communications and training strategies globally that are designed to maintain the competency of State Street stakeholdersIdentify and implement risk mitigation efforts that lead to a strong internal control environment and support business growthCommunicate complex regulatory issues in a relatable manner to ensure operating practices achieve the desired outcomes to satisfy regulatory expectations  Conduct an annual risk assessment ensuring that the methodology and the reporting of results are actionable, and the assessment is consistent with regulatory expectationsDesign and implement a technology strategy in support of the financial crimes programProvide meaningful feedback on proposed legislative and regulatory actions, balancing public policy issues, business needs and appropriate controlsDevelop and coordinate the strategies for responding to and supporting regulatory exams and inquiries, investigations, subpoenas, and other significant points of contact related to financial crimes mattersTake leadership roles in industry forums and collaborate with risk management professionals externally to address common challenges and maintain an industry networkWhat we value These skills will help you succeed in this roleAbility to manage multiple simultaneous tasks in a high pressure, deadline-driven environmentStrong abilities in analytical thinking, problem solving, research, time management, and verbal and written communicationQualified to collaborate with individuals across business units/linesAbility to take ownership and initiative, to negotiate, influence and build consensus and successfully navigate within a demanding and international environment of a leading global financial institutionEducation & Preferred QualificationsUndergraduate college degree required, JD or MBA degrees preferredMinimum 15 years of financial crimes experience designing and implementing compliance programs at financial institutions; preferably institutional banking related to custody and asset managementUnderstanding of the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Economic Sanctions and related law and regulations across Europe and AsiaCapable of leading global teams and producing high quality and/or final work product and solutions under strict regulatory or management deadlinesAre you the right candidate?
