Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking an OB TECHNOLOGIST II in Wausau, WI in our Birthing Center.

The OB Technologist II is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Assists with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. Collaborates with all OB and surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the OB and surgical environments.

Hours: Full Time 0.8 FTE or 64 hours every 2 weeks. PM/Night rotation, shifts consist of 8 hours and 12 hours and will include ever 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.

Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of surgical care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a certified surgical technologist program or related field, and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room.
  • Minimum of one-year acute care surgical experience.
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist, desired.
  • Graduate from a certified surgical technologist program, desired.
  • Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or current registry beneficial.
  • Possesses expert knowledge and practice of aseptic technique.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of sequence or surgical procedures and demonstrates excellent anticipatory and dexterity skills.
  • Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
