POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the departmental director, the technologist assists in the coordination of the technical function of the Diagnostic Imaging Department on a daily basis and in maintaining the Q.C. for the Imaging Department. The staff ultrasound technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require rational independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in performing standard examinations in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Independently performs ultrasonography procedures according to established protocols.

2. Maintains accurate patient records, documents and billing information.

3. Performs basic patient care duties within the departments.

4. Performs delegated functions as requested by the Department Director.

5. Accepts responsibility for improving their skills and knowledge.

6. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in meeting age related needs for the neonate to adolescent, geriatric, mentally ill and handicapped patient's needs.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program, ARDMS registered or equivalent. Must have CPR and maintain CPR every two years. General, OB, vascular ultrasound experience required.
