Duties
• You will develop basic facility requirements (BFRs) to justify new construction, consolidation, and demolition.
• You will perform technical and functional review of project plans and designs to verify projects satisfy planning criteria.
• You will direct multi-disciplined teams in preparing facilities planning documents, performance engineering studies, and investigation of facilities.
• You will assign work to junior level employees based on priorities, the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of the employees

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Leading project teams and being able to cross-discipline staff in product delivery; (2) Having the experience in various Planning Products & Services, Planning Criteria, and Planning Systems; (3) Guiding in planning concepts & principles, analytics, and complex project development initiatives (4) Being able to communicate with customers; and (5) Developing and conducting briefings for senior personnel

Education For the Community Planner (0020) position, applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Degree: community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance
Note: Applicants with degrees in related fields, such as those listed above, who do not have the 12 semester hours of specified course work must have had at least 1 year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner
OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education
For the Architecture Series (0808) position, applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems
OR Combination of education and experience: college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings
For the Engineering Series (0801/0810/0896) position, applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Degree: Engineering
To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
OR Combination of education and experience: college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering
The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by the following: Professional registration or licensure : Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico
Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration
