Seeking to create a future where convenient oral medicines with biologic-like efficacy are available to patients with serious medical conditions, we are developing oral alternatives to medicines currently limited to injectable forms.We seek an exceptional Scientist to join our medicinal chemistry team. Apply today to join the Lilly teamKey Responsibilities:Small molecule drug design based on medicinal chemistry principles (SAR, SPR, MPO and approaches using data from IVP, DMPK, and computational chemistry teams)Continuous development of strong medicinal chemistry principlesSynthetic route design and optimization in support of internal and external chemistsManagement of external synthetic chemistry FTE’sCross-functional collaboration with colleagues in pharmacology, DMPK, and computational chemistry to achieve program goalsMinimum Requirements:PhD in organic or medicinal chemistry + 0-4 yrs of industrial experiencePreferred Skills:Independent medicinal chemist with experience working as part of a cross collaborative teamTrack record of contributions in Hit ID, Hit to Lead, and/or Lead OptimizationExpert knowledge of synthetic chemistry literatureStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsGreat teammate; comfortable and effective in a cross-collaborative research environmentLilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $139,000 to $190,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
