* Create part and assembly drawings; participate in design reviews.
* Build prototypes, analyze failures, and implement solutions.
* Develop novel tooling solutions for assembly, integration, logistics, and test.
* Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building, and integrating hardware.
* Assisting junior engineers to solve technical challenges
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree plus eight or more years of relevant work experience

* Additional experience and technical training may substitute for degree requirement.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplined team; able to perform complex tasks applying engineering first principles.
* Experience with GD&T and performing tolerance stack up analysis.
* Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated proficiency with CAD based software such as SolidWorks.
* U.S
Citizenship
* Candidate must reside in the San Diego, CA area or be willing to relocate to the area.
* Current Secret clearance and eligibility for a Top Secret/SCI clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications
• Current TS/SCI clearance is preferred
* Five years of experience in space product (space vehicle or payload) design, manufacturing, or support that includes broad demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineering including product design, validation, test, troubleshooting, repair, and support

* Experience with designing for manufacturing
* Experience with opto-mechanical systems.
* Experience with performing thermal and structural analysis.
* Personal experience physically manufacturing and assembling hardware.
* Experience working in a clean room environment
Original Posting Date: 2024-04-24
While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above
Pay Range: Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary
Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
