Head of Technology Innovation and Strategic PartnershipsLos Angeles, CAAbout the Role:This Los Angeles-based wireless communications company is seeking a Head of Technology Innovation and Strategic Partnerships. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the following key tasks within the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) office:· Spearheading efforts to secure increased government R&D funding for the company;· Overseeing the company's technology roadmap in collaboration with the CTO· Collaborating with the CTO and the Vice President of Engineering to ensure successful technical implementation of the company's R&D programs· Making significant contributions to the company's intellectual property (IP) portfolioThis position entails both internal and external responsibilities, playing a critical role in the company's success in government and commercial markets.Key Responsibilities· Engaging with external funding organizations, identifying opportunities, and attending informational and networking events· Leading the development of white papers and proposals, resulting in contract awards· Collaborating with the CTO and Vice President of Engineering to identify technical development priorities and roadmaps, and aiding in their implementation· Participating in business development activities, including experiments, demonstration events, and customer meetings· Cultivating and guiding a diverse engineering workforce to support business development (BD) and program execution efforts· Expanding the company's IP portfolio as part of BD and execution initiativesQualifications· A PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred, while an MS is required· A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in designing wireless communication systems after obtaining a PhD, with expertise in RF sensing and signal analysis being advantageous· Proficiency in delivering technical presentations, writing proposals, and preparing technical reports· Experience in engaging with customers, with a focus on the government sector· Hands-on management experience in wireless system design and working knowledge of simulation tools like MATLAB and C· Desired experience in RF signal propagation, channel modeling, digital communications, RF sensing, signal analysis, machine learning, and related signal processing technologies. Familiarity with MIMO systems and mesh networking would be a definite plus.· Holding a Secret Clearance is advantageous due to occasional classified discussions and/or specification documents
