Job Description:

TBG's Regulatory and Nutrition team is looking for a highly qualified Sr. Regulatory and Nutrition Specialist. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance of ingredients, formulas, claims and labeling for several beverage brands within TBG's portfolio, playing a pivotal role in the innovation and launch process. You will have the opportunity to interact regularly with other functions including but not limited to product development, marketing, purchasing, and legal.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary focus of this position is to provide regulatory and nutrition expertise to TBG's brands including Tropicana, Naked Juice, KeVita, IZZE, and Dole. This includes creating ingredient statements, nutrition facts, substantiating complex claims and approving graphics that help consumers make informed choices about TBGs beverage products. You will also play an important role in reviewing and approving product specifications, a key requirement in ensuring compliance. In this role you will be responsible for multiple beverage brands and ensuring the accuracy of the regulatory information in databases, on final artwork and in specifications. The position will involve work with a variety of R&D and cross-functional stakeholders, provide input on nutrition labeling, defining new claim territories and managing packaging timelines.

The position will require an excellent understanding and application of US Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada labeling regulations to assure the accuracy of ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations and claims. As a Senior Regulatory and Nutrition Specialist, you must be able to think strategically as well as independently monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with US and Canadian regulations today and into the future. Technical savvy and expertise with product specification and life-cycle management systems are critical to success in this detail-oriented regulatory compliance and nutrition role.

As part of an entrepreneurial culture, the ideal candidate will possess an ownership mindset and a focus on the consumer. Comfort with ambiguity, a focus on agility, and appropriate risk-taking is a must. Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills required.

The position is based in Chicago, IL with three days in office. Typically, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Conveniently located close to Chicago's Union station in the Old Post Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS in Food and Nutrition, Food Science, or Science-related equivalent. An advanced degree is preferred
* Registered dietitian nutritionist is preferred
* 5+ years regulatory affairs experience required, with strong knowledge of FDA and Health Canada food and beverage regulations.
* Strong knowledge of Organic, Kosher, and Non-GMO Project Verified certifications
* An understanding of GMO and bioengineering regulation in the U.S. and Canada.
* Ability to understand scientific research for claims substantiation
* Excellent computer skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Strong collaborating and influencing skills
* Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple tasks, conduct calculated risk assessments and work independently
* Strong sense of urgency and commitment to meet aggressive timelines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Adobe, SAP-PLM including working in product specification, regulatory and/or product lifecycle management software.
* English required
