The Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences in the Collegeof Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a full-time,Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (Behavioral Scientist) to join aworldwide leader in oral health education, clinical care and research thatis patient-centered and evidence-based.

Description:
The faculty position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor(Behavioral Scientist) will collaborate with the Director of ClinicalBehavioral Sciences, and the Ethics Component Director to teach coursework andconduct student assessments in the behavioral science curricula, and relatedethical, communication, and practice management topics. The successfulcandidate will participate in the behavioral science and ethics components ofthe DMD and DMD-Advanced Standing curricula. In addition, they will developstrategies to assure integration and application of behavioral science andethics in the courses associated with comprehensive patient care. The facultymember will assist in the creation and implementation of assessment protocolsthat evaluate the performance of pre-doctoral students in behavioral scienceand ethics and will support, monitor student outcomes in behavioral science andethics and implement changes as appropriate to improve outcomes. The successfulcandidate may also be required to teach in the Masters of Oral Sciences (MSOS)curriculum to graduate students and residents and serve on graduate thesiscommittees.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications included PhD in Educational Psychology, PhD inHealth Communication, PhD in Clinical Psych, PhD in Social Work or relatedfields. Three years of experience teaching Behavioral Sciences in a graduatehealth education school or hospital setting is required; demonstrated commitmentto diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in teaching or scholarship isrequired. Licensure or eligibility forlicensure as a psychologist in Illinois preferred. Experience teaching Ethicstopics at the graduate level is preferred. Experience in developing healthsciences education and/or Behavioral Sciences and Ethics curricula ispreferred.
Three years or more years of exceptional teaching accomplishments inthe health sciences is preferred. Mustbe eligible for rank of Assistant Professor level (minimum) in a non-tenuretrack rank commensurate with norms and criteria for faculty appointments withinthe College. Contributions to theprofessional literature consistent with an appointment as Clinical Assistant -Associate Professor and a history of continuing education that reflects acommitment to life-long learning are required.
